Ouch. I wasn't sure about repairing this at first as the cost can outweigh the worth of the instrument, this obviously doesn't apply to anything of sentimental value, which I'm sure this has lots of to the owner. Time to get cracking *ahem*
Luckily, although it was a serious snap, the fretboard was still in one piece so I didn't need to make a new one. I started by glueing and clamping everything back down to get an idea of how it all sits together and if anything had bowed from the tension the neck was under, it wasnt strung up with nylon strings, just some cheap electric ones which actually helped keep everything together.
Success! After 24 hours everything had set solid. Now time to fill in the edges before colour matching and lacquering.
Just some more sanding back on the new coats and she's ready to string up.
Good as new!
