Mustang Partscaster - Humbucker Route/Full Rewire/New Pickups/Neck Repair + More.

Been a very busy couple of weeks with plenty of tricky guitars in at the Workshed...This Mustang Partscaster was no exception. The neck had previously had the wrong size neck screws and split the heel almost in half. Glued, clamped and filled.

The wiring was bad, I generally do wiring including current/stock hardware to help fit with budgets, but this can cause issues if the original parts are damaged from bad soldering etc. This was the case here and overheated pots and badly wired switches needed replacing. I've wired everything same as the classic Fender Mustang with a phase/dark switch similar to Kurt Cobain's 'Jag Stang'.

The neck was way off with the body and bridge saddle break angle, requiring full pocket and bottom heel shims to get to the perfect angle.

Installed new pickups, routing the pickguard to fit a Humbucker in the bridge position.

READY TO GRUNGE.
